What Makes This Recipe Different
- Grilled peaches are delicious on their own, but adding that sweet honey mixture sends them over the edge in the flavor department. Really, it sends them careening down the side of a mountain. That’s how good these easy grilled peaches are.
- These peaches are so simple to make, yet they pack a huge punch in the flavor department. They are sure to impress at your next barbecue!
- Not only are these grilled peaches delicious, but they’re also insanely versatile. You can add a variety of toppings and serve this as a sweet snack or part of a cookout.
Cheryl’s Tested Notes Tips
- Peaches stick very easily to a hot grill, especially with the honey acting like glue. Grab a clean, old dish towel and ball up one corner. Soak the corner of the towel in a neutral oil, such as avocado oil, and carefully coat your grill grates until they are covered in the oil. This will prevent your peaches from sticking and pulling apart, promise!
- Don’t get squishy peaches; choose ones that are ripe but still firm. That extra firmness will keep them from disintegrating on the grill. To remove the pits, cut them in half along the natural line, then twist each half in opposite directions, and remove the stone with the tip of a knife — easy peasy!
- Don’t mess with the peaches once you’ve put them down on the heat. If you try to lift them off too early, they will stick and pull apart. Cook for at least 4 minutes before you flip them.

Ingredient Notes
- Swap the honey for maple syrup. It works just as well in the coating and adds a slightly deeper, more caramel-like sweetness. And friends, the heat will caramelize it beautifully on the grill.
- White peaches work too. They’re a bit sweeter and more delicate than yellow peaches, which makes them taste incredible with the honey glaze. Watch them closely, though, because these puppies can soften fast on the grill.
- Add a pinch of cayenne to the honey mixture. Just a teeny tiny pinch. The heat plays off the sweet and caramelized fruit in a way that’s really darn good.
Serving Suggestions
- Vanilla ice cream. The classic for a reason! Warm, caramelized peach against cold, creamy ice cream is one of summer’s greatest combinations. Do not skip this.
- Greek yogurt. A lighter option that still hits. Sweeten it with a little extra honey and a pinch of cinnamon, and it almost feels like dessert for breakfast — in the best way!!
- Chopped pistachios. The crunch and slight saltiness contrast super well with the soft, syrupy peach. A small handful goes a long way.
- Over oatmeal or overnight oats. Slice them up and lay them over a bowl of oats, drizzled with extra honey (don’t be conservative with that honey, folks). It takes a basic breakfast somewhere really special.
Storage & Make-Ahead
- Refrigerator: Store leftover grilled peaches in an airtight container for up to 3 days. They’re honestly great cold, straight from the fridge, but you can also reheat them in a pan over medium heat for 1 to 2 minutes until warmed through.
- Make-Ahead: You can mix the honey glaze up to a day ahead and store it in the fridge. Bring it back to room temperature before dipping (cold honey is way too thick to coat properly). The peaches are best grilled fresh, right before serving.
Recipe FAQs
- Do I need to peel the peaches first? Nope! The skin holds everything together on the grill and peels away easily once they’re cooked if you’d rather not eat it. I say leave it on; it saves time and keeps the peach intact.
- Can I make this on a grill pan instead of an outdoor grill? Yup! Get your grill pan hot over medium-high heat and cook the same way (honey-side down). You won’t get the smoky char of an outdoor grill, but the results are still incredibly deelish.
- My peaches are sticking to the grill. What am I doing wrong? 2 things: the grill probably wasn’t hot enough, and they might need another minute before they’re ready to flip. A properly preheated grill and a little patience are all you need. When they’re ready, they’ll release cleanly!
- Can I use frozen peaches? Fresh is really the way to go here, because frozen peaches have too much moisture and won’t caramelize the same way. If it’s not peach season, this recipe is worth waiting for!!
