Instructions
Prep the Pickles
Drain the pickles and pat them dry thoroughly with paper towels. This step is crucial for achieving a crispy coating.
Set Up Breading Stations
In the first bowl, place the flour.
In the second bowl, whisk together the egg and water.
In the third bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning.
Bread the Pickles
Dredge each pickle slice in the flour, shaking off any excess.
Dip into the egg mixture, ensuring it's fully coated.
Press into the breadcrumb mixture, coating both sides evenly.
Place the breaded pickles on a plate or tray.
Air Fry
Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
Arrange the pickles in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they don't overlap.
Lightly spray the tops with olive oil spray.
Air fry for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
Serve
Remove the pickles from the air fryer and let them cool slightly.
Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
Recipe Notes
Once your breading stations are set up,
use a different hand for wet and dry ingredients
so you don't bread your fingers instead of the pickles!
