Instructions
Heat large skillet on stovetop over medium-high heat. When pan is warm, add ¼ cup diced bacon to pan. Sauté bacon, stirring occasionally, until bacon is crispy.
Transfer cooked bacon to plate lined with paper towels. Return skillet to stovetop without draining pan.
Add 1 cup chopped white onion and 2 ½ tablespoons minced fresh garlic to skillet. Stir to incorporate, then sauté aromatics, stirring occasionally, approximately 5 minutes or until onions are translucent.
While onions and garlic sauté, add 4-5 cups chopped green cabbage to Crockpot.
When onions are translucent, transfer onions and garlic to Crockpot with cabbage. Add cooked bacon to Crockpot, then pour in 2 cups chicken broth. Stir ingredients together until well incorporated.
Secure lid on Crockpot and set to HIGH for 2 hours. After 1 ½ hours, check cabbage regularly, cooking until cabbage is tender.
