Instructions
Preheat grill to medium-high heat, approximately 375° to 450° Fahrenheit. Spread out large sheet of foil on flat work surface.
Place trimmed asparagus on sheet of foil. Drizzle olive oil evenly over asparagus, then sprinkle salt and pepper on top of asparagus.
Wrap foil sheet over and around asparagus, covering vegetables completely, and seal edges tightly. Place foil-wrapped asparagus on grill and close lid. Grill asparagus 4 to 5 minutes, then flip foil packet and grill another 4 to 5 minutes until asparagus can be easily pierced with fork.
Remove foil packet from grill and unwrap asparagus. Discard foil and transfer asparagus to serving platter or individual plates. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over asparagus and top with grated parmesan cheese, if desired. Serve immediately.
Recipe Notes
To trim the ends of the asparagus, hold one asparagus stalk upright one-by-one and you'll notice the stalk start to bend. Snap the asparagus in the spot where it bends and discard the woody end, then line up the remaining asparagus and cut the ends off to match.
