Thanks to the air fryer, you can now enjoy s’mores two different ways – as a classic, sandwich-style treat or as an ooey, gooey dessert dip! Both versions are ready to eat in less than 10 minutes and made with just three quintessential s’more ingredients.

3 air fryer s'mores stacked on top of each other.

What We Love About This Recipe

  1. Like my s’mores bars recipe, air fryer s’mores are a fun and easy way to enjoy classic s’mores any time of year and regardless of the weather! No campfire needed, just a trusty air fryer and a little aluminum foil.
  2. This recipe gives you two different ways to make s’mores in the air fryer. One is classic sandwich-style s’mores, just what you expect when you picture this summery treat. The other, and arguably more fun, way is a s’mores dip (a s’more drawer, if you will). Melty chocolate and ooey, gooey marshmallows you can literally dip graham crackers into. Perfect for groups, movie nights, sleepovers, you name it!

Cheryl’s Tips

  • With the individual, sandwich-style s’mores, we cover them with a sheet of aluminum foil to keep the marshmallows from flying around the air fryer. They’re just too light to stay down on their own! Make sure you lightly place the foil on top of the marshmallows. You don’t want to smush them or have them stick to the foil.
  • Once you add the chocolate to the individual s’mores, turn off the air fryer before putting the basket back. You don’t want to actually air fry them more. Trust me, the residual heat will be plenty to melt the chocolate!

Equipment

  • Air Fryer with drawer or basket, not racks
  • Aluminum foil

Instructions

For Individual S'mores

  • Preheat air fryer to 390° Fahrenheit. Cut sheet of aluminum foil to size of air fryer basket. Set foil aside.
  • Remove basket from air fryer. Place 2 sheets graham crackers, each broken in half, in bottom of air fryer basket.
  • Place 1 marshmallow on top of each graham cracker square (4 marshmallows total), standing each marshmallow upright.
  • Cover marshmallows with sheet of aluminum foil cut to fit basket, allowing foil to rest lightly on top of marshmallows.
  • Return basket to air fryer and carefully close air fryer. Air fry s'mores 5 minutes, then carefully lift foil and check marshmallows. Air fry s'mores 1 to 2 additional minutes if needed, until tops of marshmallows are golden.
  • When marshmallows are golden brown, carefully remove foil. Place squares of chocolate on top of marshmallows (4 squares milk chocolate bar total.
  • Carefully return basket to air fryer and turn air fryer off. Leave s'mores in air fryer 60 seconds or chocolate has melted from residual heat.
  • Remove basket from air fryer. Cover melted chocolate with halves of 2 sheets graham crackers and serve.

For S'mores Dip

  • Preheat air fryer to 390° Fahrenheit. Line air fryer basket with sheet of aluminum foil, covering bottom and sides of basket completely.
  • Arrange 6 ounces marshmallows in bottom of air fryer basket, allowing marshmallows to overlap. Scatter pieces of 1 full-size milk chocolate bar on top of and in between marshmallows.
  • Place basket in air fryer. Air fry marshmallows 5, then check doneness. Continue air frying marshmallows, checking every 60 seconds, until marshmallows are as charred as desired.
  • When satisfied with marshmallows, carefully remove basket from air fryer. Serve with 4 sheets graham crackers (broken into individual pieces) for dipping.

Notes

  • Marshmallows: Use regular marshmallows, not mini or jumbo size.
