Black bowl of fried pickle slices with a small bowl of spicy mayo for dipping.

This recipe is a pickle lover’s dream come true! Pickles fried in the air fryer are crispy, juicy, and insanely addictive. Just pair them with your favorite dipping sauce!

What Makes This Recipe So Good

  • These Air Fryer Fried Pickles are tangy, juicy, satisfyingly crunchy but are actually light and healthy because they’re air fried instead of deep fried.
  • This recipe uses an entire jar of pickle chips / pickle slices so you don’t have to bother measuring them before just draining the entire jar.

Chef’s Tips

  • These fried pickles work with so many different types of dipping sauce, but we recommend choosing something creamy. Remoulade is our favorite, but ranch and spicy mayo are also good choices.
  • Once your breading stations are set up, use a different hand for wet and dry ingredients so you don’t bread your fingers instead of the pickles!

Equipment

  • Air Fryer

Instructions

Prep the Pickles

  • Drain the pickles and pat them dry thoroughly with paper towels. This step is crucial for achieving a crispy coating.

Set Up Breading Stations

  • In the first bowl, place the flour.
  • In the second bowl, whisk together the egg and water.
  • In the third bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning.

Bread the Pickles

  • Dredge each pickle slice in the flour, shaking off any excess.
  • Dip into the egg mixture, ensuring it's fully coated.
  • Press into the breadcrumb mixture, coating both sides evenly.
  • Place the breaded pickles on a plate or tray.

Air Fry

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • Arrange the pickles in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they don't overlap.
  • Lightly spray the tops with olive oil spray.
  • Air fry for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.

Serve

  • Remove the pickles from the air fryer and let them cool slightly.
  • Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Once your breading stations are set up, use a different hand for wet and dry ingredients so you don’t bread your fingers instead of the pickles!
